“CD Images” are files that contain the contents of a whole CD, DVD or Blu-ray Disc. There several different formats for these files, such as CUE/BIN, ISO or Ashampoo’s own ASHDISC. The program supports the following operations for CD images:

Creates a CD, DVD or Blu-ray Disc from an image file. The resulting CD, DVD or Blu-ray Disc has the same contents as the CD, DVD or Blu-ray Disc that was originally used to create the disc image.

Stores the contents of a CD, DVD or Blu-ray Disc in a disc image file. These files can later be burned to another CD, DVD or Blu-ray Disc with the “Burn a CD, DVD or Blu-ray Disc from an Disc Image” function.

This is a special function that allows you to directly create a disc image file, without having a CD, DVD or Blu-ray Disc first. The way this works is that the program lets you specify the disc contents in the same way as if you wanted to burn a CD, DVD or Blu-ray Disc. However, instead of actually burning the CD, DVD or Blu-ray Disc at the end, the program will directly create the image file. The result is the same as if you had burned the CD, DVD or Blu-ray Disc and then created an image file from it.
